Sheikh Mohammed’s horse racing and breeding operation in Ireland is centered on Kildangan Stud, just outside Kildare town. It is one of the most prestigious facilities for horses in the world. Because of the nature and value of horses at this facility, it was imperative to Godolphin Racing Ireland that Mythen Construction Limited understood the logistical requirements of working around horses and trainers daily routines.
The project consisted of construction of two new luxury stable facilities with surrounding yard. Each stable building was designed as single storey, with a pitched roof and brick cladding to blend into the existing location seamlessly. The interior of the buildings consist of 8 specialty stables, washroom, tack room, storage room, and wash facilities. The stables were given a walled and gated courtyard.
One of the unique challenges for this project was the installation of the Technopol three part epoxy tanking (waterproofing) system for the walls to allow for pressure washing.
A new large capacity slurry storage tank, and alterations to existing storm drainage system were completed with all associated site and landscaping works.
